These are many different stories. Commissions and projects. Assignments. The dreamer moms separated from their children awaiting, spending years desperately waiting steps outside the US border in Tijuana. The community of Dilley Texas, home to one of the country's largest family detention centers. The story of Alex, deported back to Honduras, away from his family, for doodling in his Long Island High School notebook, after a year of solitary confinement, at 17. The story of J, who came here to escape violence, and then was attacked with a Machete in the long island woods. The immigration raids that ripped apart families in Tennessee. The anonymous portraits of immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence because they fear reporting it. In my head it becomes a chain, many stories, all linked together. Many countries and states, all connected, separated by invisible fences.
