The National Socialist Movement identifies itself as a “White Nationalist” organization, founded on a platform of racial segregation, American Nationalism, the deportation of immigrant populations and conservative family values. While officials within the organization decline to report actual membership numbers because they say they fear their size would draw unwanted scrutiny from authorities, they have chapters throughout the country, and hold rallies, demonstrations, banquets, protests and “border patrols” from Arizona, to Nebraska and Ohio to Florida, as well as major cities such as Los Angeles and New York.
Border Security is a major issue for the NSM, and members regularly travel to the US border with Mexico, heavily armed, to “patrol” in hopes of preventing immigrants from crossing into the US. Jeff Hall, a plumber and regional leader of the Southwest Chapter of the NSM based in Riverside California, frequently organized these trips, where a mix of war veterans, ex-cons, and civilian NSM members would don military fatigues and automatic weapons to hike through border crossing areas in hopes of intercepting a would be immigrant.
Jeff Hall was shot and killed while sleeping on the couch by his 10 year old son in their Riverside home on May 1, 2011.
A year later, another NSM affiliate and sometimes leader JT Ready killed his girlfriend, her two year old daughter, her adult daughter and her boyfriend, before turning his gun on himself. A few months before he was implicated in the deaths of two men on the border in Arizona.
Norm, another Southern Californian NSM member committed suicide in the same year.
